In this County seat of Monroe County are a couple of cemteries that are well kept and show the pride people have in their ancestors. One is located off SR 800 just north of the Mc Donalds's restaurant and one is located on the side street that borders the back parking area of McDonald's.

These stamps are dedicated to all the men and woman who have coached boys and girls for years and years. They give up their own free time to teach sportsmanship and the rules to their own children and those of men and women who don't have a clue about the games. THANKS, COACH AND THANKS COACH 2 are dedicated to them.

These were very early carvings of mine but haven't had the heart to remove them. Encouagement for carvers who want to but are afraid.

Difficulty: Easy, you will also need a compass and a rag to wipe off the box. Please be sure to replace them as found and be discreet about retrieving them if there are visitors in the cemetery.

STAMP #1

In Pioneer Cemetery (est. 1812) which is located on Sycamore Street off SR 800 behind the American Legion and McD's extra parking. From the pole of freedom take 18 steps with your back to that pole. At the edge of the the second penned plot in the large Guard of STOEHR, you will find the pouch above the ground in the Right guard. Please move away or back to your car to keep from giving up the hiding place to passersby. Rehide and reseal carefully.

STAMP #2 Box is missing and we fear the new groundskeepers are at fault. It will not be replaced.
Poor little Box #2. It has had trees fall on it, its fallen out of trees and now the chipmunks have chewed through the Gorilla tape but must have gotten tired before they got to the stamp and much of the logbook.

Its being replaced again today with a L & L and cammo cover and a wire to hold it up. If you see a little Chipmunk spitting out that Gorilla Glue tape you will know where he has been.

Directions:

Now, travel on to SR 800 which is where you will find Oaklawn Cemetery across from a carryout. Entering the Cemetery you will pass Oaklawn Abbey on your right. Go left of the Rules sign, pass the freedom pole on your right and the road quickly turns. Slow now and look to the left for 4 cone shaped evergreens. Stop and park your car. Look to the left and see CLAUS and SCHNEIDER resting. Now between REINHERR and SPRIGGS at eye level in the spot between the trees that is 18 steps from the pavement you will find the official letterbox pouch.

Be certain not to be observed as you gently remove the pouch and then replace it carefully after stamping the logbook. There are more boxes that will be appearing in this cemetery as well as several other boxes in this county that you will possibly want to look for while you are here.
