This Holiday Series is a series of 5 letter boxes that all pay tribute to a wonderful January holiday that we
enjoy. Some of these holidays are traditional holidays and some are not so traditional. All of these boxes
are located off of Hwy 84 between Rusk and Palestine.
I hope that you enjoy this look at some at January holidays.
Box 2 0f 5 is the Winter Letterbox. January is the first full month of Winter, so I decided to celebrate this
pleasant season. This box is located in Pleasant Grove Cemetery off of Hwy 84 on FM 1804. If you are
coming from box 1 in the ID Fairchild State Forest, the Cemetery will be to your left. You will go down
1804 for .5 mile until you reach the Pleasant Grove Cemetery and church. Go to the second entrance
which is right next to the church and the historical marker. Be sure and read the historical marker. Enter
the cemetery at the large signed entrance. Look to the SE for 2 rock graves. Start walking towards them.
Before you get to them there will be a large bush (it is the only bush that I saw in the cemetery). Winter is
hiding under a large rock in the bush.
As always, please make sure that this box is well hidden from view and please be aware that this church and cemetery are both still active. ENJOY!!
