A wonderful letterboxer reported that the logbook was wet so I retrieved it this morning and am making a new one. I will try to replace it within the next few days. Check back here to see if it's ready. The stamp and a temporary book are still there if you just can't wait until then.
CLUES
Park at the Walgreens at the corner of Lake St. Louis Blvd. and Technology Drive (just east of Hwy 40/61).
1. Across Technology Drive is the NISC Recreational Use Trail. Take the trail past the lake and up the hill.
2. At the top of the hill, turn left onto the gravel path that loops around the field.
3. Toward the end of the field, there is a mulch path off to the left that goes into the woods. Take this path.
4. Just before the trail makes a major right turn, away from the road and along a ravine, there will be a fairly good-sized tree with a good sized sucker on the left edge of the trail. The main tree has a hollow at the bottom and the letterbox is on the left side of the hollow in the tree, covered with leaves. Please be sure and cover it well when you are finished so that it cannot be seen by hikers coming from the opposite direction!
5. Then continue along the trail in the direction you are going. It will soon join back up with the gravel trail at the top of the hill.
6. Turn right onto the gravel trail and head back to your car.
Please make sure the box is well-sealed and rehidden. Also, I would love to know if you find the box. If you don't mind, please log your find on www.atlasquest.com and/or www.letterboxing.org. In addition to making my day, it will also help others to know that the box has been recently found intact.
