MISSING AS OF 5/22/09-WILL REPLACE JUNE
*************
My family and I recently relocated to Lamoine from NE Hbr on MDI. Here are some of the neat new places we have found thus far!
Welcome to Lamoine Series: Lamoine Beach
To box:
follow brown signs to Lamoine State Park via Rt1 near the Hancock/Ellsworth line or via Rt3 in Trenton. Once you see the State Park on your right, continue on straight on the same road until you reach water- Lamoine Beach.
At the beach, park the car in the lot near the picnic area. Walk down the main road onto the beach and take a right. Look for a small evergreen tree along the shore. The box is at its base, covered in seaweed.
Notes:
First, I would highly recommend printing off a "Lamoine Street Map" at www.lamoine-me.gov/Streetmap.htm
Secondly, this will be the first in a series of Welcome to Lamoine letterboxes. There will be six in total.
Finally, you could do the entire 'Welcome to Lamoine Series' in one day if really adventurous and good at using the street map.
