My family and I recently relocated to Lamoine from NE Hbr on MDI. Here are some of the neat new places we have found thus far!
Welcome to Lamoine Series: Lamoine State Park
($$ There is a small per person fee to get into the park spring through fall)
follow brown signs to Lamoine State Park via Rt1 near the Hancock/Ellsworth line or via Rt3 in Trenton. Turn into the State Park on your right, continue on straight until you see the playground on your right.
At the playground, stand beside the volleyball net pole furthest from the water. With your back to the water, climb up the hill in front of you. When you crest the hill, you will see a huge pine tree directly ahead of you. The box is at its base.
First, I would highly recommend printing off a "Lamoine Street Map" at www.lamoine-me.gov/Streetmap.htm
Secondly, this is the second in a series of Welcome to Lamoine letterboxes. There will be six in total.
Finally, you could do the entire 'Welcome to Lamoine Series' in one day if really adventurous and good at using the street map.
