Roseville Series

BOX PULLED 9/24/2011 AS BRONZE SIGNS ARE GONE.

Roseville is a suburb of Sacramento, CA (even though it is in Placer County, not Sacramento County). It is located along Interstate 80 east of Sacramento. We have placed two letter boxes there.

So, which exit to take off Interstate 80? What would you say if you struck gold, 49er? Hint: it is also the California state motto. Take that exit and head south, and not very far. Lets go see a show. Make a U turn or turn left when the time is right. If the sun rises behind you, you’ve gone too far.

You can stay to see a show, but to the back of the lot is where you want to go. You’ll have to get off your horse now, 49er. You must read the “trail rules”. When you get to the main trail, head west, not east. Pass under the street (you drove in on) and take the first paved trail to the left to the top of the hill. You are now in a garden of bronze.

Box #1 The Rose of Roseville

Look for the turtle to the right of a rose. In this circle, find your number, Roman. Subtract 2 and that’s the circle to go to. Face this new rose, then turn left. Walk 10 steps. Turn right. Walk 10 steps more. At the base of the tree is your treasure.

Box #2 The Cars of Roseville - MISSING 7/4/08

Wave to Cosmos as you pass it on your right. Take the paved path to the left and down the hill. You are now back to the main trail. Watch the cars go zipping by in front of you. Turn back to face the hill. See the big rocks to your left. Walk to the tree behind them and turn around. What you seek is at the center of the pile behind some smaller rocks.

Take the main path to the east to return from whence you came.
