The year 2003 was special for me because that was the year my two grandsons were born. The year 2006 was another banner year as it was the year my two granddaughters came into the world. This box celebrates the arrival of those two newest little ones. Bailey was born June 27th, and Campbell was born October 17th. This letterbox is hidden just down the street from the hospital where they made their grand entrance into this world.

Driving Directions to the trailhead:
This box is located in Arbor Hills Nature Preserve on Parker Blvd. in Plano. It is just a short distance west of the Plano Presbyterian Hospital and the Dallas North Tollway. Drive to the Nature Preserve and park (only one parking area). You will observe the covered picnic pavilions and a playground off to the left of the parking area.

Clues to the box:
NOTE: There are two ways to access this box. The first is a gentle, wide cement path the entire way, and the second is a bit of a shortcut, but involves a couple of dirt paths across fields which could be muddy after a rain. Either way, the walk is enjoyable and should only take about 15 to 25 minutes (one way) to the observation area at the top of the hill.

Cement Trail: Take the path that goes down the north side of the playground. That path comes to an end at a larger path where you will go right. Soon you will cross over a stone bridge. Just beyond the bridge, you will see an iron dove marker #6. Continue on the cement path as it curves around to the left. Soon you will see a pile of large stones surrounding a manhole to your right. There is a dirt path (shortcut) across the field you can take, or you can continue on the cement path. The cement path and the dirt shortcut path will merge at Dove Marker #9. Continue straight ahead on the cement path (go right if you entered from the dirt path). When you arrive at Dove Marker #17 on your right, you will see a cement trail on your left heading up the hill. There will be a yellow and black handicap sign beside the trail. Go up the trail a short distance until you come to a Y. Go left at the Y and stay on the main trail to the observation area (Dove Marker #16). Go out onto the observation deck and enjoy the view. To the south, rising high above the treetops, you will see Plano Presbyterian Hospital. After enjoying the view, return to the entrance to the observation deck and turn right (going back the way you just came). Soon you will come to a path on your left (just opposite an orange and white barrier on your right). Go up this path about 150 steps until you come to a cedar tree just to the left of the trail. (You can touch the tree from the trail.) Look ahead 17 steps to a smaller cedar on the left of the trail which has its lower branches touching the ground. Look behind the small cedar tree where you will find the box under some rocks.

Hopefully, you will enjoy the box and recover it well so that it will be safe and sound for other boxers to find another day!
