Happy Trails, FL LbNA # 28377
|Placed Date||Jan 20 2007|
This is the first letterbox that we have placed and we're really excited about it! Hope many of you will enjoy it as well! (This letterbox could accomodate a small HH.)
You will find Happy Trails along the Cady Way Trail in metro Orlando. The Cady Way trail is ideal for walking, biking or skating. For more info on Cady Way, please visit the link below... Mischief Cat and I rode our bikes (2.5 mi round trip), but this could just as easily be walked!
From I4, take the Colonial Dr./SR 50 exit, and head east on Colonial 2.5 miles.
Turn left onto Herndon Ave.
Turn right into the parking lot just past the Post Office, where you will access the trail head.
You will come to meet...
Don't worry about the likes of them, however - they don't mind being crossed.
After Beach, keep your eyes on the trail in front of you, and you will see a 1 1/4 mile marking.
You'll begin to journey through a wooded area.
Keep a lookout for the first natural "bridge" on the left.
Cross this bridge over the swampy area with much caution.(Seven year old Mischief Cat used a walking stick to help provide more stability.)
Ahead and to your left, you will see a large, uprooted oak with its root section facing the trail behind you.
Climb over the trunk of this tree and search the crevices of the root area closest to the ground (don't forget to poke around with a stick, prior to reaching in!)
Here, you will happen upon Happy Trails!
(The trunk of this tree made a perfect place to stop and hang out awhile! Secluded and ideal for stamping-in!)
A little something special awaits the First Finders!
Please replace the letterbox so that it is as well hidden as when you found it.
