Find Myakka State Forest on River RD in Englewood. (this is not the state park you will find in Sarasota.)

Directions: Go south on 41 and turn right on River Road in North Port. Go until you see the sign for the State Forest.I think it is a couple miles down the road. (or if you are coming north from North POrt then you would take US 41 north until you get to River Road) The exit for the I75 would be exit 191

Go in and pay fee at the fee station
The fee is only $1.00 per person. It is an honr system. You take an envelope at the pay station and put your dollar in and put it in the slot for the payment. The stub that was attached to the envelope goes on your rearview mirror while you are there. The money helps to fund the preservation of the forest.

Drive til you get to the first picnic area (about .5 mile give or take a tenth) and park there. Follow the cement path past a sign that reads " No Overnight Parking" to the picnic table. Look right past the picnic table and go off the cement path and go 8 steps to a large palm tree. Then go 8 more steps behind the palm tree til you see a short rotted stump in the center of some tall palms. Go 7 steps beyond the stump to a large old oak tree. It is around the base of this tree. It should be cobvered with debris and leaves to hide it.

You can stamp in at the picnic table. Please be discreet and rehide in same spot and cover it to hide it like it was your own. Thank you.

ps.. if your bring your dog, make sure that the dog is on a leash
