The Archie Knowles Campground is a great place to stop and stretch your legs. It has access to Knowles Creek which is EXCELLENT for creek walking and viewing wildlife. In the summer months the water is low and you can walk up or down stream quite a ways. It's beautiful!!!
To get there: Hwy 126 west towards Florence. Will be on the left side of the freeway marked by signs.
To the box: Park in the day use area (or if you are sneaky you can drive right to the box but you have to be quick before the camp host catches you)
Find Camp site #9. To the right there is a large pile of concrete covered with moss. To the right of the concrete is a large "V" tree. On the back side of this tree under mossy stick and a block of concrete you can pitch a tent too.
Happy Hunting!!
