Find your way to the Centre Street Conservation Corridor in Dover, MA. Coming from Dover Center towards Medfield it is on the right maybe a mile or so out of town. There is a small semi-circle to park in.

Take a look at the map at the trail head to get your bearings. Your hike to the Red Sun Letterbox will take you to the scenic overlook on the Channing Property. It's about a mile and a half each way.

Staying on the trail marked by the vertical sky blue rectangles, find the following landmarks:

White Pine Tree
Glacial Esker
American Chestnut Tree
Viburnum
Eastern White Oak Tree
Skunk Cabbage
Eastern Red Cedar Tree
Canada Mayflower
Red Oak Tree
Sassafras
Glacial Erratic

Once you arrive at the Glacial Erratic you are at the end of the nice, helpful landmarks and will have to rely on my poor directions. Not to worry, you are probably nearly halfway there already.

Staying on the trail marked by the vertical sky blue rectangles you will:

- Cross a stream.
- Come to a T intersection (go right).
- Come to another T intersection (go left).
- Pass a mountain of rock on your left, one of which is reminiscent of the peak of a house. This may not be obvious during the summer when the leaves are on the trees.
- Pass a flat, coffee table sized rock on the right side of the trail.
- Come to yet another T intersection (go left).
- Cross another stream.

Eventually you will come to still one more T intersection with another mountain of rock directly ahead of you. At this point you will leave the trail marked by the vertical sky blue rectangles for the first time by taking a right.

Follow this trail for several hundred yards (I counted 300 paces) until you come to what seems to be the highest point on the trail. To your right, down a small side trail will be a rock outcropping with a view to the west. If the weather is fair I would suggest enjoying the view with a bottle of wine, a picnic or a thermos of coffee. Perhaps all three.

After enjoying the view return to the trail and continue the way you were going for another 60 paces. You will see a grouping of boulders on your left. The Red Sun Letterbox is behind and under the large boulder to the left of the largest boulder in the grouping. Please rehide well.

The Red Sun Letterbox is a Hitchhiker Home. This letterbox is home to several hitchhikers that are launched from the Red Sun Letterbox and would like to return as often as possible. If you find any of the following hitchhikers at the Red Sun Letterbox please take them on a journey to another letterbox. If you find them anywhere else, please move them back in the direction of the Red Sun Letterbox (or all the way to the Red Sun Letterbox if you can!).
