This letterbox is located at Lake Eola Park, in the heart of The City Beautuful. Lake Eola offers a scenic view of our city for all walkers, joggers and strollers to enjoy. A brand spanking new playground for the younger set has just opened recently and Mischief Cat gives it 2 thumbs up! There is a small cafe on the lake and also Swan Boat rental available. Nearby is the Orlando Public Library, and a seemingly endless supply of pubs, cafes, and boutiques from which to choose. On Sunday mornings, you can also take advantage of the Lake Eola Farmer's Market!
This letterbox is dedicated to cast and crew of The Black Swan Theatre Company that performed offbeat children's theatre at Lake Eola in the early 1990's. You all were the most amazing of friends! This Box's for you!
Clues:
To find Black Swan, walk the lake, until you come upon an island.
Align the opposite of night between the two palm trees on this island.
Turn a 180, and approach the camphor tree in which you will find Black Swan.
Helpful Hint: A large bag of "Duck Bread" came in handy as a cover for letterboxing in this park. PLUS, your avian friends will love you for it! (MC and I saw/fed a 2 month old cygnet today!)
While you are here, be sure to look for the "Here Comes the Sun" letterbox!
THIS PARK IS EXTREMELY BUSY AND HAS A VERY HIGH AMOUNT OF "PASSERS-THROUGH". EARLY ON SUNDAY MORNINGS SEEMS TO BE A GOOD TIME FOR LETTERBOXING HERE. PLEASE USE THE UTMOST OF DISCRETION WHEN LOCATING, STAMPING IN AND REPLACING BOX.
Please contact us and let us know how our box is doing.
Thank you!
Peace,
lorax and Mischief Cat
