This box was put together by my 9-year old son. He found the stamp while searching through boxes at the Humane Society tag sale back in October and knew right away that he wanted it to be a letterbox.
Enter Hubbard Park on the road by the duck pond (the pond will be on your right).
Shortly after passing the duck house, a road leads to a parking lot on the left. Park here and start your search at the wooden sign that reads, “Hubbard Park Trails”.
You will start off on the white trail. It starts just to the left of the sign.
Many trails on the trail map are colored orange. The one you want branches off the white trail on the right. It’s before you get to the bridge. After a short uphill, you will see the highway ahead of you. The orange trail again braches to the right. Don’t take this path. Keep walking as it forms a lollipop and starts to come back out again. Halfway around the “cul-de-sac”, stop just before turning to go back out.
There is a tree here on your left. I thought it might be a beech but another boxer thinks it may be a black birch. It had no leaves when we planted the box. From the tree, take a compass reading of about 350º. Walk in this direction to a “T” of fallen logs. Look here for the box.
To leave, keep going around the “cul-de-sac” and turn left when you get back to the white trail.
The Under the Sea, Dead Bug and In Bloom letterboxes are very near here. Don’t forget those clues.
