Difficulty: Easy
Distance to Letterbox: 1/2 mile

Status of Letterbox: Reported missing, but not confirmed yet.

The "Last of the Mohicans" letterbox was my personal literary traveller, but is now a placed box. See "Urban Cowboy" box for information on the park - Cypress Creek Preserve. Park is open on weekends only!!!!!

Directions:
From Hwy 290 heading toward Austin, take the Telge Rd exit. Turn right on Telge. Go past Huffmeister (stop sign). The next light is Spring Cypress joining in, so stay straight. At the next light (Spring Cypress is going to the right), turn left into the entrance for the park.

To the Letterbox:
Walk up and into the preserve over the wooden ramp. Go right. Stay right until you climb up a bit to the edge of a bigger pond. Look across the pond Northwest at 310 degrees and find the benches. This is your next goal. Walk around the pond to the 6 benches. From the benches, go Northwest at 320 degrees to the big loan oak in the middle of the trail forks. Continue on main trail, always keeping the houses and drainage in sight to your right. Eventually on the back right side of the park, in view of the houses you will come to a park sign ("Little Cypress Creek Preserve" in blue, with a white sign below. From this sign, go 38 steps west on the trail. Now go north off the trail for 10 steps into the brush. The box is hanging at the base of a small oak tree on the back side. Please re-hang when done.
