Sunshine Daydreams letterbox is hidden in August A. Busch Memorial Conservation Area. (Commonly known by locals as Busch Wildlife)
The gates are open 6 AM to 10 PM.
Permit for placing letterboxes is required and states that the following information be provided:
1. The Conservation Area is open to multiple public uses including hunting, fishing, and hiking;
2. Trespass onto adjacent private property is not permitted and trespass complaints may result in revocation of permit;
3. Letterboxes are allowed by Special Permit only;
4. Searching for letterboxes is strongly discouraged during managed deer and turkey hunts (contact Area Manager for specific dates)
5.Persons searching for letterboxes during the firearms deer season and firearms turkey season are strongly encouraged to wear huter orange.

From St. Louis
Take Hwy 40/61 West to Hwy 94 Weldon Springs exit.
Turn left across the overpass. (This is Hwy 94)
Continue until you reach the Stoplight at Hwy D.
Turn Right.

From Kansas City
Take Hwy 40/61 East to Hwy K/Hwy 94 exit.
At first Stoplight, go straight.
At 2nd Stoplight, turn Right (This is Hwy 94)
Continue until you reach the Stoplight at Hwy D.
Turn Right.

Look for the entrance on the right about 1 and a half miles on Hwy D.
You can get maps and other information from the boxes in the Island as you enter.
There are many Hiking/Biking/Walking/Nature Trails.

Turn Left.
Follow the road
The trail you want is across the way from “BLACKJACK” or the legal drinking age.

The trail is NOT stroller friendly but only about a half mile long.
Enter to the left through the field.
You may go over a fallen tree across the trail
And you’ll certainly pass a small pond.
Follow the trail
You’ll notice a knobby, forked tree.
Keep going
Two landscape timbers across the path mean you’re nearly there.
From this spot, take 55 normal strides on the trail.
To the right is a gully.
Walk up this gully until a fallen tree hangs in the way.
Turn Right (careful of stickers)
Take 10 strides to an uprooted tree.
The roots are skyward and Sunshine Daydreams is hidden underneath to the left covered in leaves.
BE CAREFUL – it’s possible critters could be lodging with this letterbox.
Reach in with care or use a stick.

RE-HIDE WELL and let me know how we’ve done…this is our first hide.
Follow the trail and you’ll exit on the Authorized Vehicle Trail.
Thanks, Hippie Trails
