This letterbox is in honor of my grandfather who loved to coon hunt. I never knew him, but I have always heard the wonderful stories about him. My mother was 11 when he was killed in a hunting accident. My grandmother always said that at least he was killed doing something that he loved. While my cousin, Wag Time, and I were visiting our mothers hometown, we placed this lb in tribute to him. He is buried in this cemetery with many other members of our family.

To get to the box
Leave Ellisville on Hwy 11 south headed toward the State School. Turn right on the road just before/at the fenced property for the State School. This road crosses I-59 and continues on to become Hwy 590 West. Continue on for 4 to 5 miles to Pine Grove Community and the road will take a sharp curve to the right. In this curve, turn back to the left at a sharp angle onto Jordan Road between two red brick houses. If you get to Pine Grove Baptist Church (at the curve), you missed the turn. Go 0.9 miles to a VERY small hanging sign on the left for Jordan Cemetery, just after a mailbox marked “Anderson, Box 385”. Turn to the left onto a dirt road. The box is located on the right side of the drive into the cemetery, just outside of the first post of the chain-link fence.

Be sure to look for the “A Tribute” letterbox while at this cemetery.
