The Mississippi state insect is the Honey Bee. As my cousin, Wag Time, and I were traveling down I49, we happened upon the Beverly Drive-In Movie Theatre, or at least what remains of it. We were both in awe at this site that we thought what a wonderful place for a bee to be buzzing around so we just had to place a lb so that others could enjoy this site.
Head south on I-49 (Edward St.) out of Hattiesburg. Turn left on Old Airport Road. Drive past the stately, old Beverly Drive-In movie theatre and park at the end of its fence at the Forrest County Volunteer Fire Dept. building. Walk back down the fence-line along the road, past the structure that once held the movie screen and toward the highway. The box is at the first big non-pine tree outside the fence.
