Confederate General Braxton Bragg
West Point Graduate-1837-Died in Tx.
Hence the name Bragg Road
Just down the highway from Saratoga, there is a phenomenon that has been happening for generations. There is a dark unpaved road that some call Ghost Road, but true locals call Bragg Road. Unlike most ghost stories, this one is unquestionably true. I have been down Bragg Road and can vouch for the existence of a light that appears there. Seeing the lights on Bragg Road is one of those experiences that make you question your grip on reality. If you want to encounter a true mystery, and one that will erase skepticism from your mind, make your way to Bragg Road.
Directions: From Houston, take IH 59 N. to Cleveland. Exit on SH 105 E. and follow it through Cleveland (be careful because it makes several turns in town). Continue east through intersection of 105 and 2518. You will pass over the Trinity River and go through the towns of Moss Hill and Batson. Make a left at FM 770 and proceed north toward Saratoga. At outskirts of Saratoga make a left on FM 787 and travel 1.6 miles to the entrance to Bragg Road. FM 787 will make a sharp curve to the left, you will keep straight onto the unpaved road. Here you will see a large sign giving a history of the road. Be sure that you take the time to read this sign and all of the others as you make your way down the Ghost Road.
Clues to box: Be sure that you read each sign along the way ( Not the state road signs ). Remember the importance of General Braxton Bragg. He is the key to the location of the box. Hint: look on the back side of each sign as well as reading the front.
Warning: This road occasionally floods and the mosquitoes will carry you away if you are not duely protected. As always when in the wild watch for snakes and other varmints !!
