**RECENTLY CHECKED ON** THE FIRST BOX NEEDS A NEW BOOK, IT'S PLUM FULL, BUT BOTH BOXES ARE ACTIVE AND INTACT. I'LL GET THE NEW BOOK PLACED SOON.

This treasure hunt will take you to the largest waterfall in Wisconsin. It is completely hidden from the road, and thousands of cars drive by it every day without knowing what they are missing. The first of these boxes is accesible to strollers and small children, the second is a one mile hike roundtrip along a dirt path.

Box #1: Pattison Park is located about 15 miles from downtown Superior on Wisconsin Highway 35. You will need a park sticker to enter, or on the off season, you can put a few dollars in an envelope at the park's station. Once that's done, exit the park and take a left on WI 35. Go one block to County Rd. B and take a right. Immediately after that, turn into the parking lot on your left and park.

Follow a small paved footpath from the parking lot across the road. Follow the winding paved trail until you come to a scenic overlook area surrounded by stone walls. From here you will get your first look at the waterfall. It's spectacular. Take a seat on the bench, then look to your right. There is a low stone wall that meets a higher one behind you. Go to where these walls meet. About 12 inches from the ground above the low wall is a reddish rock shaped like Lake Superior in the high stone wall. Behind this rock is the letterbox.

Box #2: After you have hidden the box back in the wall, you can journey to the river below by taking the path to the left of the bench. Walk to the trail's end. Once there, you will see an old cedar tree looking out over the river. She has really cool, witchy looking roots. From this tree, take 85 steps upstream along the river. You will come to a large moss-covered rock. Under this rock is the letterbox. You may want to put a stick under there first incase any critters are living there.

I hope you have enjoyed your trip to Pattison Park. There are miles of trails to explore if you wish. Happy hunting!
