Park Pleasures Series (2 boxes)
These boxes were placed for the San Diego Gathering on March 24, 2007. From Hwy 78 in Vista, take Melrose toward the County Court Complex. Turn right on Shadowridge, just past the ball fields. Then turn left on Antigua to find your start.
Box #1 Fall Fanatics
From the parking area, go right and enter through the yellow gate. Walk on the wide dirt path. Pass seven large green discs. After passing the seventh, walk 50 steps further uphill at 45 degrees to a large round boulder. Carefully remove the small rocks on its north side to find the Fall Fanatics.
Box #2 Quick Kick
Turn around and return the way you came. Just past the yellow hydrant, turn towards the stream. Cross over the bridge then go right on the path. Stay left at the fork and continue past the bikers’ jumps. As the eucalyptus trail starts on the right, you will see a large burnt-out stump, a clump of living eucalyptus, and a small burnt-out stump. Quick Kick landed in the small stump and is now under rocks and plant debris.
