"Tortilla Flat is an authentic remnant of an old west town, nestled in the midst of the Tonto National Forest, Superstition Mountain Range. As well as being home for six adventurous people, Tortilla Flat has a charm that has surpassed time.

Tortilla Flat started out as a stage stop in 1904 and neither fire nor flood has been able to remove this historic stop along the Historic Apache Trail.

Mosey down the boardwalk and visit the Superstition Saloon. Real saddles serve as bar stools where you can enjoy a cold brew or sarsaparilla. The unique wallpaper is really dollar bills from visitors world wide.

Our Restaurant serves the biggest burgers, hottest chili and the coldest drinks everyday. The Gift Shop will surely supply your needs for the unusual and one of a kind."

I copy and pasted the above information, just so you know. Anyways to reach Tortilla Flat take Rt 60 east and get off at Idaho. Take Idaho north until you see a sign for Rt 88 east, you will make a right off of Idaho. Just keep following Rt 88. After you turn off Idaho it's about 14 miles to Canyon Lake, great sightseeing! Another 2 miles passed Canyon Lake is Tortilla Flat. There will be signs along the way.

After walking down the boardwalk, at the end, you will see an ice cream shop. Stop in, get a ly pear ice cream cone (the ice cream is made from the fruit of the ly pear cactus). After stepping out of the ice cream shop look directly across across the street. You will see the largest tree around. I think it is a type of pine. Walk around the left side of the tree. Once standing behind the tree look in the pile of rocks (or concrete) slightly to the right of the tree.
