Burr Oak State Park. http://www.dnr.state.oh.us/parks/parks/pdf/burroak0303.pdf
This box is located on the Lodge and Cabins side of the Park. Take SR 78 from either McConnelsville or Glouster till you come to the entrance to Burr Oak State Park Lodge and Cabins. Come down the road to the T-intersection. Straight ahead of you is a building and parking area. Park here and read the sign about the area's forests. Back across the road and toward the Lodge you will see the trail head to the Chipmunk Back Pack Trail. Thats where you will start.

Difficulty: Easy
Time: 20 minutes including time to hunt for GSD1s box in this same area.
Distance: ~ 3/8 - 1/2 mile round trip from parked car.
Please bring your stamp, a stamp pad, pen and an old rag to wipe off the box/your hands. Maybe bug spray too in the summer.

The theme that my 4 boxes at Burr Oak follow is "Fun things to do and places to see in Burr Oak State Park".
Clues:

Head off down the beautiful trail of pine needles until leaving the pines, continuing on to a right bend in the trail. At the end of this bend is a small tree, leaning over the trail, having blue and yellow blazes upon it. Start counting steps from this tree and when you reach 85 you should be standing fairly close to a double trunked tree on the left. Behind that one is a triple trunked tree and behind that one are a couple small trees with a medium sized one behind them. (Please look up and down the path to be sure you are not observed before leaving the path.) Behind the medium sized tree (this tree is about 16 steps from the path) is a large pile of limbs cleverly stacked up to resemble a letterbox hiding place.........which it is.
Find the PLAYING WITH FIRE letterbox under the limbs. Find a spot near by, but not here, to do the stamping. When completed with the logging please reseal the baggies securely to keep the log dry and rehide as you found it, where you found it. Do make sure you find GSD1s other box in this same general area and then return to your car. And I thank GSD1 for getting me to this park and to this trail. Without he and Katiebug I am not sure I would have ever ventured to this beautiful park.
Hope you enjoyed this leg of your hunt for today and will let me know of your adventures and the condition of this box. Cordially, Safari Man
