From Orleans:
Take Route 6E to Wellfleet, past the Drive-In, Marconi Beach and Blackfish Creek.
Turn right at Old County Road at the Citgo station.
Go about .8 mile. Take the first dirt road on the right after the campground.
Follow the road through the woods, past the power lines to the parking lot at the end. (At time of placement, road was full of potholes!).
Note: In summer, town stickers are required to park here 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
From Provincetown:
Take Route 6W to Wellfleet. Go through both sets of stoplights and take the next left on Cahoon Hollow Road just before PJ's. Go .5 mile and take a right on Old King's Highway. Go .8 mile until you pass Fred Bell Way. Take the next dirt road on the left and follow directions above.
To the Box:
Start down the path to Duck Pond.
At the first fork, go right at the fence segment.
At the next fork, turn right again.
Walk 15 steps to two oak trees that form a "V" on the right side of the trail. (Look for the bumpy bark tree.)
The box is on the ground where the two oaks' trunks meet covered with sticks and leaves.
After enjoying the box, be sure to return to the original trail and follow it to Duck Pond for a wonderful swim!
