American Pride
Suffolk, VA
Difficulty- Easy Distance- about 1/2 mile
Terrain- Slightly overgrown (Bring your Deep Woods OFF)

Lone Star Lakes is in the Chuckatuck area of Suffolk. From Godwin Blvd (Hwy 10/32) take Kings Hwy. If you pass the volunteer fire station you've gone too far. The entry fee is about $1.00.

From the contact station you can see a playground ahead and slightly to the left, park your car there. In this parking lot you'll notice a trashcan holder with wooden slats. With your back to this trash can take a compass bearing of 105° and about 10 paces. From there head NE. Just a few paces down this road you'll notice an overgrown path to your left. This is where you leave the road. After a few feet on this trail it begins to look like an overgrown
deer path, and that's the way it's supposed to. Down this trail and on your right is quite an interesting rock and a bench. It's a nice view but your treasure lies further on. Continue to the end of the trail, but don't go down the stairs.

At the stair railing a compass bearing of 130° will put you in sight of a large tree. Behind the tree and under the pine needles and sticks is the American Pride. Stamp in and re-hide carefully. An extra treasure awaits you in the box, it's yours if it so pleases you.
