The Canyon Wren is a small North American bird that ranges from far southern British Columbia and Montana south through much of Mexico and east to Oklahoma and Texas. It is mostly a rusty color with a contrasting white throat, and its falling series of whistles is one of the more familiar bird calls of the canyons of the western United States. Since it usually makes its home in regions that contain cliffs, steep-sided canyons and rocky outcrops, you might see or hear one at the Canyon Rim Woodlands Trail. Easy access, well marked trail sections, and a nice walk in the woods makes this trail a great one to visit while looking for this box.

Directions:
From Burkeville, go north on Hwy 87 for about 10 miles to R255. Continue another 1.5 miles where a sign on the road marks the left turn into the parking lot for Canyon Rim Woodlands Trail on the west side of Hwy 87.

Clues:
Find the trail head sign and walk on the trail a little ways to a T jct. Go left on the Easy Trail for 160 steps to a sign on the left describing Bear Grass. Face the sign and walk past it a little to the right for 15 steps off trail to the fifth pine tree in a row of them. The camo microbox is hanging in a small tree to the right about 4 feet high. Please replace as described.
