This is Vermont's second letterbox hybrid. This one, however, is a multistage hybrid. A hybrid is a term used in geocaching where the object hidden can be found either by using a GPS receiver or by following clues. Geocaching is similar to letterboxing. However, instead of following clues that lead you to the container, one uses a GPS receiver to bring them to GPS coordinates in order to find the hidden item. For more on Geocaching go to Geocaching.com

There are two stages to this find. One intermediate stage and the other being the final, which is a standard 30 oz lock 'n lock container. I believe I forgot to place something to write with in the cache, so make sure to bring your own. Most of the way is level open ground. However, there is a small stream and an embankment to be traversed as well. Although the stamp is not exactly 100% accurate to the hide, it is pretty close! Feel free to also write a few notes in the book. Since this container is also a geocache please do not take any geocaching travel bugs or coins from the container unless you plan to log them into geocaching.com. Thank you.

Here are the clues to help you find this letterbox:

Make your way to Mountain View Drive in South Burlington. This is located over behind the airport. Once you turn onto Mountain View Drive park on your right under the power lines. There will be a path heading off to the east following the power lines. Follow this path for .30 miles until you come to a path off to your left at the break in the fence. Look for the first stage container near this fence. The directions to the final are located inside the first stage container.

Good Luck.
