From Hwy. 101 in Montecito, exit on Sheffield Drive & proceed north 1/4 mile to San Leandro Lane. Ennisbrook is 1/2 mile ahead, at 1710 San Leandro Lane. The trail starts behind the white picket fence on your right. Park there alongside the road.

CONFIRMED MISSING IN OCTOBER, 2007. THAT's TWO "SALMONS" GONE BY THE WAYSIDE. (We'll give it one more reincarnation soon & post the news when we place it....)

NOTE: The original Salmon disappeared in the flood in 2005. With generosity & goodness of spirit Ron, the original placer, has granted permission to john&kathy to created a new stamp & set a new letterbox.
This is still the first box in the Ennisbrook series, but to try finding all the rest of them you must read the clues in the "Critters of Ennisbrook" listing.

1st Box: Salmon Rushdie is a Fish & Living in Montecito
Go through the gate & follow the trail. After a very short distance you'll cross an old stone bridge. The trail forks just past the bridge. Go left, paralleling the creek. The trail then parallels Ennisbrook Drive for a short distance, then drops back down towards the creek where you'll cross a 2nd stone bridge. Continue up the trail til you reach the next fork. The sign says the trail goes straight ahead but you will take the right fork instead. (It is part of the Ennisbrook Trail Loop.) Just as the path descends the bank to the creek crossing there is a longish old log on the ground on your left. Look to the hollow part where a big piece of bark is hiding the bashful Salmon Rushdie.
