Okay so it's not really the South Dakota state bird but one sees so many of them even zipping down the interstate. And they certainly are a big boon to South Dakota tourism in the fall.
To find this box stop at the Chamberlain rest area (available either east or west bound) perched high above the Missouri river, about milepost #260 on I-90. Park at the south end of the parking area and locate the sign declaring "state law" on the road that returns you to the interstate. From this sign walk west about 110 paces and there should be the start of a gully to your right. 10 to 15 paces to the right should take you to the east most juniper at the top of the gully. A camoflauged container is hidden in its branches.
Please wedge the container back in securely and camoflauge as best you can.
It's been brought to my attention that there is a geocache very near this letterbox. And perhaps some folks have been finding it & mistaking it for the letterbox & wondering why there wasn't a stamp. As of 7/08 the letterbox & stamp were present.
