THIS BOX HAS BEEN RETIRED AS OF 4/19/08
NC-343 joins Hwy 17 just north of the William Ira Halstead Bridge near South Mills, NC. BoXer is just off 343.
In the southern shadow of the eastern high rise, BoXer rests,
Near a rock at the edge of grass that has seen many guests.
The guard rail on the water side ends where you turn in,
Ahead at the tree line, sits a box made of wood, not tin.
Only steps from your car, this sure was an easy find,
It was worth it, however, because BoXer is one of a kind.
Last thing to know is the rock is not where you should look,
Lift the box and you will find his image and little book.
BoXer’s not really there as one might want to think,
It’s just another box from a mind that’s way out of sync.
