****THIS BOX IS CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE DUE TO TREES DOWN ON THE TRAIL! It looks like it will be out for the summer. 07/07/08**************************************************
The Lamoni bike trail is a paved trail that extends through the entire town. It has two legs that have very nice country views. The total length of the trail to this box is less than 2 miles.
Take I-35 exit #4 at Lamoni (the welcome center exit). Turn west and then turn immediately south at the visitor's center. Follow this road 2 blocks to it's end, where it curves SW into E 2nd street. Follow this 2 blocks to it's end at the head of the trail (the no motor vehicles beyond this point sign.)
Follow the curves around the ponds and enjoy our new redbud trees.
Pass a bench named for the king of beasts.
Pass two big, hollow logs.
Pass over the bridge built on an old railroad trestle. Pass by a very "goode" bench with the view of a nice little pond.
Pause at the "TOP" of your walk where a lovely bench sits in front of some rocks.
You'll find the thing you seek amid those rocks in the clearing by the flat, brick-red stone. Please re-hide it well.
