Dingoes at Dinnertime
An Easy RI Mystery
Difficulty: Clues and Hike - Easy. An easy mystery that contains a letterbox in the Magic Tree House series.

Location: Check your map and find the village belonging to Santa's monarch. On the road to a point named after a famous WWII temporary structure you will proceed through a village named after one of the earliest settlers to the area. Historical Cemetery #6 is adjacent to the place you will be visiting and contains the grave (with new headstone) of this settler. This sanctuary is named in memory of this family of settlers and is a favorite for those interested in viewing waterfowl.

Clues: A few different small trails all lead into one main one that follows a ridge above the water (down to your right). The trail leads into a large clearing with huge monuments to Nicolai Tesla towering over you. Stay to the right as you leave the clearing and continue on the trail that leads above the water. You will go past two different wooden benches placed there to enjoy the view and listen to the wildlife (????) roaring by on the far side of the waterway. As the ridge comes to an end you will see the third and last bench on your right as you enter another clearing with Tesla's mark. Stand on the far side of the north tree that forms the bench. Proceed at 320o for 14 paces. It is possible that you will find wild dogs foraging on the far low side.

You can return on the dirt road in the direction of your car (stay left!). When you return to the first clearing you saw on the way out, take the trail by the third giant. Stay to the right and keep your eyes open to the right and the top of the hill to find the historic cemetery. From there just keep heading back to your car - it's hard to get lost.
