Hawkins is called the Pancake Capitol of Texas. Since I love pancakes..I just wanted to commemorate this special honor. The box is located at Memorial Park in Hawkins. From the intersection of Hwy 80 and FM 14, go North on FM 14 to CR 3419. The park is behind the City National Bank. The park has a large playground area and a huge oil derrick monument. Follow the trail behind the playground past the last picnic pavilion and just past the basketball court. Look to the right for two intertwined hardwood trees. Beyond them, against the cyclone fence, is a stand of trees. Look for a 3-trunk tree right in the middle of this group of trees; one of the trunks is broken off. The box is behind this tree at its base under some small branches and the normal stuff.
