I went down to replace the letterbox but someone was hovering right where it needed to go, fishing and then sunbathing, so I couldn't leave it. I will get down there as soon as I can and will post when it's back.

I placed this box in memory of my dog, Daisy Mae, who thought that the Colchester Causeway was heaven on earth. She also adored going letterboxing with me, so I thought it would be a wonderful way to honor her on what would have been her 15th birthday.

Make your way to Airport Park on Colchester Point Road, but instead of turning into the parking lot, continue on past, down the hill, and around the bend to the right. Soon you will see the road turn into a "Y". Stay to the right onto Mills Point Road. Shortly you'll see a sign pointing out the parking area for the bike path. Park in this lot.

You will then walk a little further on the same road and see the sign on the left hand side of the road for the Colchester Causeway bike path.

The first part of the path goes through a wooded area, but then it opens up and you'll see Lake Champlain on both sides of the path (this is an old railway so you are really close to the water and it's beautiful!). Once you are out in the open look ahead and to the left of the trail and you will see Law Island. Continue along the path until you are parallel to the beginning edge of the island. Turn to the right side of the trail and you will see three large blocks of white marble. The middle one is leaning on a group of scraggly trees. The stone to the right has a space between it and the ground where there are smaller rocks scattered around. The box is hidden in the space under the rock.

Please be discreet. This is a very busy area. Be sure to hide it well again with the rocks that are there.

If you continue on a bit further, you will reach a small bridge where you can enjoy the view of the lake before heading back to your car.
