Our letterbox has mysteriously grown legs and walked off! We will need to replace it. Once we do so we will remove this message and you can once again search for it.

Look for this letterbox while visiting Harpers Ferry National Historic Park. Climb the stone steps past the oldest surviving structure in Harpers Ferry (on your right). Take a drink at the fountain and keep climbing up past the "old hospital" ruins. Take a moment to enjoy the awesome view at Jefferson Rock. Notice the white trail markers for the Appalachian Trail. Follow this trail up the steps past Jefferson Rock. You will soon come to a fork in the trail. Turn right and climb some more stone steps! You will come to an old, well maintained cemetery. Take a minute to catch your breath while reading the history of the cemetery. From this point count about 45 (adult) paces while walking down hill towards the nearest corner (NE corner) of the cemetery. On your right you will see a steep dirt trail that leads out of the cemetery down to Jefferson Rock. Take one step down the trail. Turn around and the box will be by your left foot at the base of the rock wall. Carefully remove the yellowish rock to reveal the box. When replacing the box please take care not to damage the rock wall.
