This is our first placed letterbox! I hope I have it in me to check it! This is a rigorous hike that will take about 5 hours. Two in and two out and one to hang. The hike requires good boots and a first aid kit and definately a lunch!
Directions:
From the upper parking lot of 7 Springs Resort, hike up to Tahoe Lake. There you will find signs directing you to the Laurel Highlands Hiking Trail (LHHT). Go around the lake and find the yellow blazes. Follow the trail to mile marker 25. At this point you will go down and back up a large hill! When you reach the sign for shelters turn left and continue to shelter # 5. Walk south past the fire pit and continue on the path until you reach a pool in the stream. Stop, reflect....People pay big bucks for this! To your immediate left is a large Elm tree. Reach behind it and under the roots you will find a natural slate shelf. There you will find the treasure you were looking for! Happy Hiking!
