The Lost Backpack LbNA #30591 (ARCHIVED)

We lost our backpack at Goldwater Lake.
Help us find it by retracing our steps:

Directions to Goldwater Lake:
From Gurley Street in Downtown Prescott go South on S. Mt. Vernon Ave.
Go 3 miles and look for the sign for Goldwater Lake on the right side of the road.
There is a $2.00 parking fee.
From the parking lot head toward the bathrooms and picnic tables beside the lake.

Take the Bannon Creek trail all the way around the lake. You will cross over a small bridge with a log parallel to it that is cut out like a bench (this is the second bridge you will cross). Continue on the path up the hill. You will reach the park boundary with a barbed wire fence and a wooden cattle guard gate. Go through this gate and stand on the other side with your back to the gate. You will be facing South at 170 degree mag. Continue straight up the hill for around 60 paces. Stop at the tree in front of the deadfall. Off to the left there will be a pit. On the right side (west) of the tree there will be two skinny stumps about 2 ½ feet tall next to two fallen trees forming an “X”. Look under the rock next to the stump on the left and you will find our lost backpack.
