Background
Kaitlyn Langlois was a vibrant young girl who enjoyed playing soccer, running track and socializing with her peers. In the fall of 2001, at the young age of 12 years old, Kaitlyn was diagnosed with a malignant tumor on her shoulder and upper arm. She bravely underwent an entire year of chemotherapy treatments and several surgeries. Kaitlyn continued to fight through four relapses while attending classes at David Prouty High School and participating in extracurricular activities. She fought to maintain her daily routines with the addition of lengthy medical tests, procedures and treatments. Soon after her sixteenth birthday, Kaitlyn lost her courageous fight and passed away on May 21, 2005. Her friends and family share many fond memories of Kaitlyn playing soccer at the 4H soccer fields in Spencer. This letterbox was placed in her memory in May of 2007. Clues
From Route 9 in Spencer, take Pleasant St at the lights in the center of Spencer near "Whitco Toy and Cormier Jewelers," (AKA Route 31 North) heading towards Paxton. Follow Rt 31 for 2-3 miles until you see St. Joseph's Abbey on your left. Just after that turn right onto the road between the signs that say "Mary House" and another sign that says "4H Camp Marshall Soccer Fields."

Follow that bumpy little road. You will see what appears to be a dead end blocked by a gate, the road actually continues to the right there and you will see a sign that says "Buck Hill Horse Fields." As you travel up that dirt road you will see a soccer field on your right (with orange goals). Keep going past that field and you will come to another larger soccer field with white goal posts. Park along the fence facing that field.

Kaitlyn's letterbox is behind the goal to your left if you are facing the field from the dirt road, this goal is closest to the horse farm & stables. As you approach that goal you will see a chain that hangs between two large trees blocking the entry to the field from the horse farm.
Standing just beyond that chain in the small patch of trees separating the two fields look to your right for the large dead tree that looks somewhat like a cactus. From that tree head slightly uphill towards a very small clearing surrounded by rocks (about 18-20 steps and slightly to your left). If you are in the right spot you will see two very large boulders to your right and a smaller square/cube shaped rock on your left as you face uphill away from the "cactus tree" behind you.

Look behind that square rock to your left for Kaitlyn's Letterbox hidden from sight by a few dead leaves. Please make sure to carefully reseal the bags and the box before replacing it.

Have Fun!
