This box is the first in a series planted by two intrepid Navy Master-at-Arms Reservists stationed in Newport, The Navy Cop and SeaGirl

Depending on your direction, get on RI Rt. 138 to Jamestown just before or just after the tolls to the Newport Bridge. You'll come to a quaint harbor and not too soon after, a stop sign. Turn right on Hamilton Avenue, up and over a small hill (be cautious as this is a bustling road,) arriving at Mackerel Cove. Continue on for approximatly 2.5 miles. You'll see a sign for Beavertail Light. (If you like, you can check out the Beavertail Light Letterbox...our box is actually right along the way.) Keep driving until you see parking lot #4...This is where your adventure begins.
Park at the right end of a blackened telephone pole serving as a barrier. If you look directly behind it, you'll see a medium-sized white rock. Stand in front of the rock and walk until you come a slightly muddy path. Carefully walk down this path and turn left. If you glance to your right, a large flat slate tiredly leans against a red rock. walk about 15-20 feet and to your left, water drip-drops lazily from a large rock overhang. After taking in this sight continue on another 20 or so feet where a serpentine stream leads the eye to a small waterfall to your left. Follow this stream on its shore-side, as there is a mid-sized gorge on the ocean-side of it. The pretty little stream will lead you to a shallow pool, where a large boulder and his little friend wet their feet and gaze at Breton Point. Nestled between these two boulders is The Triskele Stamp box (under two pieces of slate.) After stamping in, you can rest on the smaller boulder and take in the invigorating views. We found this to be a very uplifting place. One of Jamestowns hidden secrets of peace and tranquility.
