Begin your stroll through historic Venice at Venezia Park. Start across the street from the entrance sign and read the historical marker about Venezia Park. Cross the street into the park and follow the cement path to the playground. Go to the swing nearest the Venezia Park sign. Standing with your back to St. Mark's Pre-school, walk to the palm tree with leaves covering the trunk. Turn right. Pass four palms in a row. From the 4th palm, turn towards 11:00. Find a double trunked pine tree. Box #1 is hidden between trunks.

Leave Venezia Park by walking down Nassau St. S toward the downtown shops. At the corner of Nassau and Turin, follow the sidewalk in West Blalock Park. Learn about the trees as you pass starting with the Pongam tree. Walk by the butterfly garden on left and Jacaranda tree and swings on right. Walk past bandstand on right. At fork, go left. Then take sharp right and pass rose garden on left. Continue walking to large sea turtle. (read Mote Notes) Dig in sand under front left flipper of sea turtle for letterbox #2.

Exit park through arborway. Continue down Nassau St. S to Venice Ave. Go left onto Venice Ave. Cross Harbor Drive. Enter Heritage Court in the median of Venice Ave. Read Welcome to Heritage Court marker. Follow path west toward Gulf of Mexico. Read Pioneer marker. Continue west on path. At fork go left. Stop at 2nd huge Banyan tree on left. Go around or through tree. Find green handprints on tree. Find name "Erik" carved into tree. Look within roots for letterbox #3.

Walk back toward downtown Venice on Venice Avenue. Cross
Harbor Drive. Take left onto Nassau St. N. At corner of Nassau St. N and Sarasota St. enter Dr. Fred Albee Park. At first two palms turn right onto grass. Go over small hill, past picnic table on right. Letterbox #4 is hidden under pine needles between two pine trees.

Letterbox #5 coming soon!
