3/7/2008 - The park bench was just moved by the city-RETIRED.

This is just a funny little box I created. As a child when I would see cartoons I would see the Warner Borthers logo at the beginning of the cartoons. I always thought that “WB” stood for "Wacky Bunny." I grew up and realized that it doesn’t but every time I see the logo I can’t help but think back to when I was young.

Location: Bown Crossing & Boise Greenbelt. The New Heart of Southeast Boise. Set along the river, at the end of ParkCenter Blvd., Bown Crossing is Boise’s first true mixed-use community with shops, restaurants, homes and civic uses all within one neighborhood. Take time to look and see what has sprouted up at Bown Crossing. If you have time stop for a bite to eat there are some great restaurants tucked away in this new community.

Follow ParkCenter Blvd to the East. You will pass Riverside Elementary School on your right. Then travel through the stoplight. Before the road makes a sharp right travel off the end of ParkCenter Blvd into the gravel and park. If you take the turn to the right you will end up in the center of Bown Crossing where you will find restaurants and small shops. It’s only about a block or two from where you are parking.

Clues: Walk to the greenbelt and note just off to your right there is a sign that reads ”Natural Habitat Area.” Enter the habitat area heading straight ahead towards the river. On your left you will see an inviting log bench that faces the river and a really large tree. Sit on the left side of the bench and find on the ground the plaque that ready “Edward R. Swoter 1934-1997 Nature God’s Gift to Us.” Just under the bench in the opening next to the plaque you will find your hidden treasure behind some river rock.

Should you note the box missing, it’s contents in bad repair or if you just want to say “Hi” please contact me at Blackvelvetrav@yahoo.com.
