Freeport, a shopper's paradise, has other wonderful places to offer either a weary shopper or people looking for time to rest, regroup, or just enjoy. Jacqueline's tea room is such a place. Nestled on the knoll of a hill on Route 1 just beyond the public library, Jacqueline has taken a hobby and passion and come up with a way to share it. Every other weekend a reservation can be made to sit and enjoy a very cozy, relaxing two hours where you are served an english tea. She has over 60 varieties of tea to choose from all steeped to perfection and in gorgeous pots that she has collected from all over. No two place setting have the same china, the patterns are endless. Each table in the four seperate dining rooms have a chandelier hanging above them that reflects soft light Each person is served their personal choices of tea in a beautiful pot and kept on an indivdual tea warmer. The typical English fare is served starting with scones with curdled cream, followed by soups, tea sandwiches and yummy desserts. There are also gifts and teas for sale as well as fancy sugar cubes, napkins, and books about tea. As you go in the door you will find the box tucked out of the way on the floor under the couch. Please pay Jacqueline a visit. Once you go you will return I'm sure I have been three times so far!Bring ink, I can't remeber if I put any in. check the place out at www.jacquelinestearoom.com
