Round barns are common in certain parts of the country, but not in Central Illinois. Champaign-Urbana is home to four of these barns—three of which are located on the University of Illinois south farm. From South Lincoln Avenue drive west on St. Mary’s road until you see the round barns. A driveway runs between the two eastern-most barns. On either side of the driveway stand large trees with folds in their trunks.
One of those trees has the letterbox hidden in a fold at the base of the tree, covered by a large rock.
Please be very discrete in locating and replacing this box. The farm is a busy place and we don’t want to call attention to the hiding place.
