Due to lack of interest I've moved Annie back home with me---I will likely plant her soon---Spring/Summer 09 closer to our home in Westford, so stay tuned!

Clues
The Old Rifle Range, Old Marlboro Road, Concord (not too far from Emerson Hospital).
This Annie letterbox was from the Wild West Poastal ring--there are several pages still available. The logbook has a bit of history about Annie so when the ring was over and I found this trail it seemed a perfect fit for Annie!

The parking lot for the Rifle Range is 1.2 miles down Old Marlboro Rd and Emerson Hospital. It is located on Concord Conservation land.

I moved her to a new location--a bit closer--between targets 3 & 4. When I moved her in early November there was a HH visiting!!! Hope the next person will stamp it into Annie's pad.

Park in the small marked parking right off the road. Be syre to bring Bug Spray if coming in the Spring--I planted this on a very buggy day. Trail is well marked & maintained but can narrow at times and also you will walk up and down hills so might be icy & slippery if you come in winter. Also, watch your footing when you step over & on the roots of the trees. Note: This is a Dog Friendly area--they may or may not be leashed. Also, lots of roots to walk over---dont' trip and fall!

Heading down the trail you want to be on the look out for the Target areas (these are fairly large concrete slabs that are built into large mounds). They are not used for target practice anymore but this was a very active area around WWI. Thyere are 4 in all but you only need to pass 3 to find Annie. Some targets are futher apart then others, esp. between 3 & 4. Hunting for Annie shouldtake you about 45 minutes including stamp time for you to get back to your car. All the target areas will be on your RIGHT.

From where you park your car always stay on the main trail which will lead you past 4 large concrete target areas. After you walk past the 3rd Target area start looking to your left every now and then----about 1/2 way to the 4th target area you should see a mode of transportation that might have been used in Annie's day----it's in a tree about 12-15 feet up. Once you find that tree & mode of transportation, count your steps taking about 140. This should bring you to a fallen MOSSY log/branch on your right. It just about touches the trail. There under the mossy branch about half way down is Annie. You can log in right there---but please note---you are just 5 feet from the trail and clearly visible!. Please try not to be seen and re-hide it carefully. Go back the way you came to get back to your car.

I'd love to hear from you when you find her--please re-hide her carefully and send me a note!
Thanks! Howling Wolf
