2 Add on boxes, can be done as part of the Gray Rock boxes for those new to this area, or seperate from them if you have Gray and Rock.

Time: add 15 minutes and less than 1/4 mile to Gray Rock, or about an hour and 2 miles if you plan to only hunt for the "Extras".

*Aythya Valisineria (Canvasback)

Follow the clues for Gray Rock past the campfire in the open field and up the hilly path through the mountain laurel. Within 5 minutes of climbing the path the laurel will give way to knee-high scrub on both sides of the trail. The trail will then go right followed by left, around a large, bushy mountain laurel and some smaller oak trees. From the oak trees, branch off to a faint path at 162. A short way up this path you will find a dead tree on the right that stands about 12 feet high, an apparent victim of winds from a coastal storm. Continue on this path 20 paces from the dead tree to a twin-trunked oak. From this oak, spot a large glacial erratic at 220. The canvasback is nesting under the NW lip of this erratic. Please stamp in and re-hide well!

*Campfire

This box can be found on the way to Gray Rock or on your trip back.

Find the campfire in the middle of the field…it is now nothing more than 6-7 good sized rocks in a circle, but a good landmark nonetheless. Head 110 on the trail, a short way across the field and into the woods to a much larger campfire with timber stacked up to make benches. Pass this campfire and when the trail crosses the stone wall, follow the wall at 12 degrees for about 25 paces. The campfire letterbox is hidden in the East face of the stone wall, look closely and you should only have to move 1 lichen covered rock! Please stamp in and re-hide carefully (as always!).

We hope you enjoyed these additions to the Gray Rock letterboxes!
