The 'Fullerton Loop - Kananaskis' Letterbox is a very easy find for those Letterboxers in the McLean Creek/Allen Bill Pond area of Kananaskis Country, just west of Calgary and SW of Bragg Creek.

Bragg Creek is a small town on Highway 22 west of Calgary about 5 km from Kananaskis Country, the playground of many Albertans.

Highway 22 runs N/S from the Trans Canada Highway (Hwy #1) west of Calgary. South of the Trans Canada Highway on Highway 22 is Bragg Creek.

Heading south on Highway 22, bear slightly left at Bragg Creek staying on Highway 22.

Just south of Bragg Creek, you will be at a T intersection with Hwy 22 going east and Highway 66 going west.

(If you are coming from the south, Hwy 22 starts at Hwy 3 and is a very picturesque drive. When you are heading west on Hwy 22 and you see the signs for Bragg Creek north and Hwy 66 west, simply go straight onto Hwy 66).

Take Hwy 66 west into Kananaskis Country and at 9.8 km from the turn-off from Hwy 22 (start of Hwy 66), turn left into the 'Allen Bill Pond' parking area.

The Fullerton Loop hike is a 6.8 km hike and starts from this parking area.

The 'Fullerton Loop - Kananaskis' Letterbox is a very easy find and you do not have to do the hike to find this Letterbox.

Go to the east end of the Allen Bill parking area where there is a large interpretive sign. The access trail to the Fullerton Loop hike starts here.

The Fullerton Loop Letterbox is located only about 200 meters along this access trail well before you get to the Fullerton Loop.

Follow the trail east about 200 meters where it will go under the Hwy 66 bridge that goes over the Elbow River.

Less than 50 meters ahead, the trail crosses a smaller bridge. The Letterbox is located beside the trail between the Hwy 66 bridge and the small bridge.

About 25 paces past the Hwy 66 bridge, there is a fencepost on the river side of the trail. The fencepost is supported by 2 angled struts.

The Fullerton Loop Letterbox is located between the bases of these 2 struts hidden under some rocks.

Once you have found the 'Fullerton Loop - Kananaskis' Letterbox and signed in, thank you for replacing the Letterbox to ensure the integrity of its hiding place.

Please ensure that there are sufficient stones protecting the Letterbox so that it is well protected from the view of passersby. Thank you.

We hope you enjoy the search and, if you have couple of hours, do try the beautiful Fullerton Loop hike.

Please contact us by email at peter@brill.ca to let us know you found this box and the condition it is in, plus any other comments you may have. We look forward to hearing from you.
