This box as been pulled off the Channel Cat for the season. Will be re-placed next Memorial Day weekend.

Explore the majestic Mississippi, one of the five top recognized attractions in the world, aboard the Channel Cat Water Taxi! Experience the power and mystique of the river that captivated Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn as it sweeps around the great river bend and flows east to west for one of only a few times over its length. Get a taste of the area once known as the Rock River Rapids, considered the most dangerous section of the upper Mississippi. Today, with the help of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the river has been dredged and a channel created to slow the flow of water. So, sit back and enjoy your journey on the Channel Cat.

This is one of our favorite things to do in the Quad Cities, we recommend everyone take a ride on the Channel Cat. I've hidden a series of Letterboxes to help entice you aboard.

For $5 for adults and $2 for kids ages 2 - 10 (under two kids are free!). The ticket price allows you ALL day access to the Channel Cat. You are welcomed to bring your bikes aboard so you can walk or ride your way through the Quad Cities.

There are TWO Channel Cat's and only ONE stamp. The stamp is on Channel Cat #1.

It is a small blue box with magnets on the bottom. I was told you just have to ask one of the deck hands, or ask one of the captains and they will give you the box. My original intent was to have it magnetized on the dash board, or under the Captains seat or somewhere where all you have to do is board the boat and snatch it on your way to your seat. First Finder(s) can you help see this happens? Thanks. Please contact me and I will update these clues.

PLEASE DON'T REMOVE BOX FROM THE BOAT.

This box has a hand carved stamp, bring your own stamp pad -- BLUE is highly recomended.

If you have the time I recommend taking the day to find and see all that you can -- here are my humble recommendations;

Hop aboard the Channel Cat, if you are on the one with the stamp log in. If you get the one without the stamp, don't worry, you should at some point during the day ride both boats.

1) John Deere Commons Landing (Moline): Find the "Channel Cat Series: Mark of the Quad Cities" stamp. You should have time to walk across River Drive to find the "Nothing Runs Like a Deere . . ." stamp.

I recommend walking to the John Deere Pavilion, a FREE attraction where you can walk up and even climb up inside the cockpits of John Deere combines, tractors and plows. If you are hungry for lunch TGI Fridays is right there.

If you brought your bike you can reach the "Flack and Bean Line" stamp

2) Moline Landing - Ben Butterworth Parkway at Celebration Pier: Find the "Channel Cat Series: Celebration Belle" stamp. Also within walking distance is the Blues Clues series.

3) The Quarter (East Moline): Find "Channel Cat Series: The Quarter" stamps (4 of them). Please NOTE the Channel Cat does not stop at this pier on Tuesdays or Wednesdays!

If you brought your bike you could reach "Campbells Island" letterbox about 1.5 miles away.

4) Bettendorf Landing - Isle of Capri Casino: Find "Channel Cat Series: Isle of Capri" stamp. Within walking distance is the "Captains Wheel" stamp.

5) Village of East Davenport Landing: Find "Channel Cat Series: Village of East Davenport" stamp. Within walking distance is the "The Oggys: Super Soggy" stamp. Please take your time and enjoy the Village of East Davenport. I recommend stopping at Lagomarcinos which has one of the best hot fudge sundaes you will ever have!

Keep in mind you can ride the Channel Cat ALL day long, you are not necessarily limited by time at each stop, however, the Channel Cat closes at 8pm. Also, this is labled as a "time sensitive" box as the Channel Cat closes for the winter and I will collect the box the week before the Water Taxi closes for the season (and will re-place next year).

Keep tuned for updates for the stamps yet to be placed. I hope you enjoy your day on the Mississippi River and have a great time in the Quad Cities!!!

P.S. I got permission from each of the placers of the other letterboxes to include them within this clue.
