Difficulty: Easy, flat bumpy terrain
Time: ~ 30-45 minuets
From the junction of Rt. 63 and Rt. 64 (exit 17 from I-84) proceed west onto Rt. 64. At traffic light (Rt188/64 split) turn right on Rt64 toward Quassy Park, and take your first Left on Long Meadow Road. The John A. Largay Memorial Nature Preserve will be on your Right.
There are 3 boxes and one log book in the last box
Enter the Nature Preserve and walk straight over “grass bridge” toward a wooden bench.
Box #1 is missing
Box #1: “Grab your pole”- Pass the wooden bench and head down the path,
on the Left you will see 2 large boulders. Look behind the top boulder
and “Grab your pole”.
Box #2: “Bait your hook”- Continue on the path, go past two giant pines on
your right and little further down the path on the Left you will come
upon a 7-sister tree. Look behind this tree and “Bait your hook”.
Box #3: ”You caught the BIG ONE”- Continue on the path and you will cross a wooden bridge. Soon you will see a bench on the Right. Behind the bench, on the Left side of the path, you will see 2 fallen trees. Look under the second tree for “Your Catch”
You can continue on the path around Lake Elsie-it will bring you back to where you started, or you can turn around and go back the way you came.
