Winnie-ther-Pooh Series
(that kind of series)
PART TWO
(be sure to find Pooh Series #1)
4 boxes
Easy stroll through cemetery
THESE BOXES WERE CHECKED AFTER THE SEVERE STORM IN SEPTEMBER 2008. OWL AND RABBIT BOTH HAVE NEW SPOTS. THESE DIRECTIONS ARE UP TO DATE AS OF OCTOBER 1, 2008.
This series is dedicated to the original A. A. Milne stories and Ernest H. Shepard’s “Declarations”.
Place: Union Cemetery, Columbus, Ohio (100 AKER WOOD) at the corner of AKERman and Olentangy River Rd. **from I-71, exit west on East North Broadway to Olentangy River Road and south to cemetery--not the first one on the west side. From 315, exit east on Ackerman. Turn north (left) on Olentangy River Rd. Enter at the entrance directly across from the huge University City Center Sign across from the cemetery.**
“BEAR” right. Drive to the end of the main drive. Turn right. Park near the green pump in section 36. (not the pump at section 35--keep going)

OWL: From the rock at the intersection walk 11 paces at 300 degrees to Allison. At 320 degrees sight a square pot. Look beyond it to two cedar trees. OWL is in the hide-y hole in the southern tree.
RABBIT: POOR RABBIT!! The tree Rabbit was hiding in was blown down by the recent storm. We found it by accident--just in time to save Rabbit. We found a new home for Rabbit. From OWL, sight 240 degrees. Walk 28 paces to a large tree with a rock on the north side. Walk south on the road that starts just south of this tree. Walk past the maesoleum to an intersection. Look at 220 degrees towards the biggest tree in this section--covered with an ivy growth (NOT poison ivy!). Walk past Wolgamitt, past mosaic pots of Masters--about 40 paces. Rabbit is hidden behind narrow southern limb about 6 feet up. (I'm 5'4" and I can reach it easily.)

KANGA: REPLACED IN A NEW SPOT!! JUNE 26,2008
Retrace your steps down the road to the intersection. Look at about 100 degrees to see Lehman's stone. Walk to Lehman. Continue on that diagonal, past another lamb to a huge tree. Just east of that tree is a 3 trunked tree. Kanga is in the crevice. (So is Roo--Roo IS NOT A HITCHHIKER!!) Replace bark carefully so box cannot be seen by cemetery workers.

CHRISTOPHER ROBIN: NEW SPOT!!! (July 27, 2009)
From Kanga and Roo continue to walk north along the ridge 18 paces. Look in the large, short stump--just before the mausoleum. It is very close to Kanga. Be sure to cover Christopher Robin's box with bark and/or rocks.
Hopefully you’ll be able to find your car from this spot. If not, retrace your steps.

This section of the cemetery is not as well used as the first set of Pooh boxes. But, please replace the boxes carefully so they cannot be seen. Remember to get the other set of Pooh stamps while you are there.
