When I was young, Mom would bring us to town when she was running errands. Sometimes she would take us to the park, but I always wondered why there was a road just for buses.
Go in the main entrance to the park and take the second right. Pass two parking lots and go as far north in the third parking lot to park near a mammalian trail.
Take the trail as it curves to the right. When it forks, go to the right. Continue on the trail and be sure to enjoy the view of the lake. When the path forks again, take the path leading downhill.
When you pass a footbridge, head to the right and then right again into a field.
Go to the left side of an island and look for a cavernous log on your left. Look inside for a colorful surprise. (PLEASE rehide carefully!)
