The Condon Wind Farm consists of 83 wind turbines and was built in 2001. The farm, located amongst the vast wheat fields surrounding the town of Condon, is used by a variety of power companies as a source of clean and renewable energy. During peak times, the wind farm can provide an output of 50 megawats... 1/10 that of a modern nuclear power plant. In celebration of this technological wonder, I have carved and placed the 'Molinos' stamp. Don't know what the name means? Go ask Don Quixote :)

Travel along Hwy 206 from Wasco to Condon. When you are between mileposts 32 & 33, you should be right in the middle of the wind farm. Keep a weather eye for a 'viewpoint' on the right side of the road. It may be disguised as a gravel pit. Pull off here and stand next to the viewpoint sign, taking in the silent beauty of the dozens of wind turbines.

Take a compass reading of 335 degrees (magnetic) from the sign and head in that direction approximately 110 paces. Be careful here, it may be best for only one person to make the trek to the box. The box is located under a large flat rock at the base of a fencepost.
